The BPHWT oversees and administers its programs from Thailand, but implements all program activities inside Burma, working directly with local organizations based within the country. The Leading Committee governs the BPHWT and is elected by BPHWT staff every three years. The Leading Committee appoints the members of the Executive Board, which meets monthly to make operational decisions about the implementation and coordination of the BPHWT’s programs. The members of the Executive Board constitute the day-to-day administrative and program management of the BPHWT. In the field in Burma, Field-in-Charges manage the Back Pack teams in their respective field area, organize field meetings and workshops, distribute medicines and medical supplies, collect and report data, organize security and transportation for all health workers, and coordinate with the administrative and program staff at the BPHWT Thailand office. The BPHWT has a range of organizational documents that guide the leadership, management, healthcare delivery, health information systems and human resources of the organization. Also, the BPHWT incorporates external support and collaboration as well, including technical support on health information systems, epidemiology, monitoring and evaluation, financial management, and survey design from local and international institutions.
