The BPHWT has the following Special Project/Research Opportunities:

  • Assess the BPHWT operating model given funding issues and alternative providers of health care in its service areas in Burma
  • Create interactive gender-based violence and family planning village theatre plays
  • Design a devolved health system within a democratic Federal Union of Myanmar including required constitutional provisions, laws, and regulations
  • Design a Health Information Management System with a prospective project plan/timeline
  • Design a low-resource Smart phone field reporting system
  • Design a standalone Mental Health Program
  • Identify feasible local funding alternatives for health care in non-IDP ceasefire areas of Karen and Mon States

Project/research persons are expected to spend a mutually agreed project/research period with the BPHWT. They are responsible for all expenses and travel documentation.

The work location for all projects/research is at the BPHWT Office in Mae Sot, Thailand. The work week for the BPHWT staff, including project/research persons, is 09:00-16:00 from Monday – Saturday with office closure for established BPHWT holidays. Project/research persons are expected to adhere to all BPHWT policies include proper dress. Project/research persons must have the appropriate subject background and/or credentials, and the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, both in a group as well as an individual capacity.
